I was recently asked to take a look at a job in a dairy. The ceiling was old and falling apart, and the number of pipe penetrations was impressive. When they told me they wanted to replace the ceiling, I thought it was a crazy idea! Who would want to replace a ceiling in the bottling room of a dairy?

After further examination, I determined that the easiest way to achieve their goal would be to install a T-bar ceiling. That would allow us to handle the pipe penetrations in smaller areas at a time. As a business owner, I knew that my biggest challenge would be the time-consuming process of cutting all the pipe penetrations rapidly and accurately. When you have only one pipe, it’s no big deal; however, I was looking at 150 pipes with three or four different sizes. That would definitely change the time of execution.

On my second visit to the dairy, I was waiting for the plant manager and picked up an industry magazine. I like to read the “circle an ad” section where you find the one-of-a-kind tool or product, and there it was… Pipetite. I wrote down the website in my notebook and went on with the meeting.
